About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished and strategic Logistics Manager to lead their logistics operations in Randburg . This senior role is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and optimization of all inbound and outbound logistics activities. You will manage a team of logistics professionals, oversee transportation, warehousing, and inventory control, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of supply chain best practices, and a proven track record of driving efficiency and cost savings within the logistics and warehousing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to support business objectives.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and customs requirements.
- Analyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a progressively responsible logistics management role.
- Demonstrated expertise in transportation management, warehouse operations, and supply chain optimization .
- Proven experience in managing teams and leading change initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
- Proficiency with logistics software, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
