About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Mine Production Supervisor to remotely oversee a key production team. This role focuses on directing daily mining activities, ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the mine plan. You will be responsible for leading a team of miners, operators, and support staff, providing guidance and support from a distance. Effective communication, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of mining operations are essential for success in this remote supervision role.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
- Ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently, adhering to the mine plan and schedules.
- Monitor and control key performance indicators for production, including ore tonnes, grade, and equipment utilization.
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Provide clear instructions and leadership to the production team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience with both open-pit and/or underground mining methods.
- Strong understanding of mine production processes and equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, especially for remote team management.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mining operations.
