About the Role
Our client, a progressive firm located in East London , is looking for an ambitious Junior Commercial Lawyer to join their expanding legal team. This role provides an excellent foundation for a lawyer early in their career, offering exposure to a wide range of commercial transactions, contract law, and general corporate legal matters. You will support senior lawyers in advising clients, drafting agreements, and conducting legal research, benefiting from mentorship and professional development opportunities. This hybrid position allows for a balance of collaborative office work and remote flexibility, contributing to the firm's success in the vibrant Eastern Cape .
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements.
- Conduct legal research on commercial law issues, case precedents, and statutory requirements.
- Support senior lawyers in managing corporate legal affairs and client portfolios.
- Prepare legal documentation for transactions, including due diligence reports.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the firm's commitment to providing high-quality legal services in East London .
Requirements
- Completed LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Admission as an Attorney or Advocate.
- 0-4 years of experience in commercial law or a related field.
- Strong understanding of contract law and corporate principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and standard office software.
