About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced IP Network Specialist to join their core network operations team in East London . This role is pivotal in maintaining the stability, performance, and security of our internet protocol network, which supports all data services. You will be responsible for the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, and other IP network devices. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient individual to work with advanced networking technologies in a key operational role within the telecoms industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and maintain IP network devices , including routers and switches from major vendors.
- Monitor network performance using specialized tools, identify issues, and implement timely resolutions.
- Implement and manage routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF) and network services (e.g., DNS, DHCP).
- Ensure the security of the IP network by implementing and managing firewalls and access control lists.
- Participate in network design and capacity planning activities.
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support for IP network-related incidents.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in IP network administration and engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and switching technologies.
- Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, ping, and traceroute.
- Experience with network security concepts and implementation.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
