About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented Information Security Analyst to join their Security Operations Center (SOC) team as a Level 1 analyst, operating within a fully remote capacity. This foundational role is crucial for monitoring security alerts, performing initial triage of security events, and escalating potential incidents to higher-level analysts. You will be responsible for identifying and analyzing security threats in real-time, ensuring the protection of our client's digital assets. This is an excellent entry-point for individuals passionate about cybersecurity, offering hands‑on experience in a critical security function from the comfort of their home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
- Perform initial analysis and triage of security events to determine their severity and validity.
- Respond to and document security incidents according to established procedures.
- Escalate confirmed security incidents to SOC Level 2/3 analysts and other relevant teams.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of security events and actions taken.
- Assist in the development and refinement of SOC monitoring procedures and playbooks.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, and common attack vectors.
- Familiarity with security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS) and security concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively report findings.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and contribute to a 24/7 security operations environment.
