About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within healthcare facilities in East London . This role is critical in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors, playing a vital part in infection control. You will perform a range of cleaning duties, handle waste management, and operate specialized equipment according to strict healthcare protocols. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and understands the importance of hygiene in a medical setting, contributing to patient well-being and operational efficiency within the East London healthcare community.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of patient rooms, operating theaters, labs, and common areas in healthcare facilities.
- Adhere strictly to infection control policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Manage and dispose of regulated medical waste, biohazardous materials, and general trash according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including auto scrubbers, floor buffers, and high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) vacuums.
- Respond to emergency cleaning situations and spills promptly and effectively to minimize risks.
Requirements
- Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or cleaning within a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare sanitation standards and infection control principles.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
