About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and strategic Energy Trader to join their trading desk in Queenstown . This role involves actively trading electricity, natural gas, and other energy commodities in various markets to optimize the company's portfolio and maximize profitability. You will be responsible for developing trading strategies, managing risk, and making critical, time-sensitive decisions in volatile market conditions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mind, deep market knowledge, and exceptional decision-making capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute trading strategies for energy commodities across spot and forward markets.
- Monitor market trends, news, and geopolitical events that may impact energy prices.
- Analyze supply and demand fundamentals, weather patterns, and regulatory changes.
- Manage trading positions and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential losses.

Requirements

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy trading or commodity trading.
