About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Electrical Design Manager to lead their design division in East London . This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical design projects, from conceptualization and planning to final execution and handover. You will manage a team of electrical engineers and designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative, and compliant electrical solutions. This hybrid position combines on-site team leadership and client engagement with the flexibility of remote work for administrative and strategic planning tasks, fostering a dynamic and efficient design department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of electrical design projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement design standards, best practices, and quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with clients, project stakeholders, and other disciplines to define project scope and requirements.
- Review and approve design documents, calculations, and specifications to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Manage resource allocation, workload distribution, and performance of the design team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in electrical design, with at least 4 years in a management or lead role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex electrical design projects.
- Expertise in electrical system design , power distribution, and relevant industry codes and standards.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Experience working in a hybrid environment, effectively managing teams and tasks both on-site and remotely.
