About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Scheduler to join their team in East London . This role is integral to planning, coordinating, and managing project timelines to ensure efficient and timely project completion. You will develop, maintain, and update project schedules, coordinating with various stakeholders to optimize resource allocation and mitigate delays. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects within the Eastern Cape , working in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using scheduling software ("e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project").
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to gather information for schedule updates and revisions.
- Identify critical path activities and potential scheduling conflicts, developing mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, analyze variances, and report on schedule performance.
- Update schedules regularly based on site progress, changes, and unforeseen circumstances.
- Assist in the development of resource loading and cost loading for project schedules.
- Communicate schedule-related information effectively to all project stakeholders.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Construction Scheduler or in a similar planning role.
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and project management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams.
