About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Civil Engineer to manage and deliver essential municipal infrastructure projects in East London. This role is vital for improving and maintaining the city's water, sanitation, and road networks, ensuring sustainable development and public service delivery. You will be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and design to construction supervision and handover. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of municipal engineering principles and a commitment to serving the community of the Eastern Cape.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and plan municipal infrastructure projects, including water reticulation, sewer networks, and roads.
- Conduct site investigations, surveys, and condition assessments of existing infrastructure.
- Prepare tender documents, including specifications, drawings, and bills of quantities.
- Supervise contractors during the construction phase, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Liaise with municipal officials, community stakeholders, and other consultants.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, regulations, and environmental requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in municipal infrastructure design and project management.
- Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in CAD software and municipal engineering design principles.
- Knowledge of South African municipal standards and procurement processes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
