About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Civil Engineer to contribute to critical Infrastructure Development projects in the East London area. This role is essential for the planning, design, and oversight of projects that enhance community infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and public utilities. You will work closely with local government and communities to ensure that developments meet the region's needs and contribute to sustainable growth. The hybrid nature of this position allows for flexibility in managing design tasks remotely while ensuring essential site presence and team interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and planning of civil infrastructure projects, focusing on transportation and water/sanitation systems.
- Prepare project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies to inform project planning.
- Support the project management team during the construction phase, monitoring progress and ensuring quality control.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, environmental regulations, and project specific requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional registration (PrEng) is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering design and project support.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Familiarity with South African infrastructure standards and practices.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
