About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistant to support their catering operations for events and banquets in East London. You will assist with food preparation, service, and setup, ensuring that all events are catered to a high standard. This role is vital for delivering exceptional culinary experiences to guests and clients, contributing to the reputation of the hotel's banqueting services in the Eastern Cape. You'll work closely with the catering team to ensure smooth event execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages for catering events.
- Serve food and drinks to guests during events in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Set up and break down event spaces, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and event service areas.
- Replenish food and beverage supplies as needed during events.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in food handling and service.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a catering, food service, or hospitality role is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and serving techniques.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weight.
