Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and process large datasets from various blockchain networks and related sources.
- Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms for data analysis.
- Analyze on-chain transaction data, network metrics, and user behavior patterns.
- Identify key trends, anomalies, and correlations within blockchain data.
- Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
- Develop predictive models for market movements, token performance, or network activity.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data analysis tools and pipelines.
- Present complex data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and blockchain analytics.
- Contribute to the development of new analytical methodologies and tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on analyzing large and complex datasets.
- Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and the crypto/blockchain ecosystem.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical modeling techniques.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) or R.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
- Familiarity with querying blockchain data (e.g., using SQL, BigQuery, or specialized blockchain explorers).
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Based in or willing to commute to East London, Eastern Cape, ZA for hybrid work.
