About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative Automation Engineer to join their remote-first team, supporting operations that impact their presence in East London and beyond. Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission automated control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.
- Develop and implement automation strategies to optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, speed, and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated equipment and software, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Collaborate virtually with internal engineering teams, production staff, and external vendors to define automation requirements and solutions.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automation technology and implement best practices.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for automation systems, including logic, schematics, and user guides.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
- Proficiency in programming various PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Mitsubishi).
- Experience with HMI/SCADA software and robotics integration .
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profinet, EtherNet/IP).
- Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills, with a strong ability to work independently.
