About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney specializing in Property Law to join their thriving practice in East London. This role offers the chance to manage a diverse caseload involving property transactions, disputes, and advisory work. You will work closely with senior attorneys and clients, providing expert legal counsel and facilitating smooth property dealings. Key Responsibilities

  • Handle property transactions, including drafting and reviewing sale agreements, leases, and bond registrations.
  • Advise clients on various property law matters, including sectional title schemes, homeowners associations, and land use rights.
  • Manage property-related disputes and litigation, including eviction proceedings and boundary disputes.
  • Conduct due diligence on properties and provide legal opinions.
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, financial institutions, and conveyancers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant property legislation and regulations.

Requirements

  • Admitted Attorney with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in property law.
  • Strong understanding of South African property legislation and conveyancing procedures.
  • Proven experience in handling residential and commercial property transactions.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and work effectively within a team.
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail.
