About the Role
Our client is seeking a responsible and engaging Aftercare Facilitator to oversee and engage children in their after-school program at their facility in East London. This role involves providing a safe, structured, and fun environment for children following their regular school day. You will be responsible for supervising homework, organizing recreational activities, and ensuring the overall well-being of the children until they are collected by their parents. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and can provide a nurturing and productive atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise children in the aftercare program, ensuring their safety and security at all times.
- Assist children with homework completion, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Organize and lead engaging recreational and creative activities (e.g., arts and crafts, games, sports).
- Provide a nutritious snack and ensure children's basic needs are met.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and positive environment for the children.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's participation and any pertinent information.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an aftercare or youth program setting.
- Strong understanding of child supervision and safety protocols.
- Ability to engage children in various activities and assist with homework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, responsibility, and a friendly demeanor.
- First Aid or CPR certification is an advantage.
