The Transaction Banking department is responsible for the product ownership of Corporate and Financial institution client’s Trade Finance, Commodity Finance, Cash Management, E-banking product as well as Corporate client’s Account, Payment, Deposit, overdraft services. As a Senior Officer - Supply Chain Finance, you will be responsible for Supply Chain, Receivables Finance, and other Trade Finance products’ development and marketing in accordance with the Bank’s business strategy, risk appetite, and compliance requirements. You will also sell Trade Finance products to existing and target customers for increasing trade loan assets and originate interest and non-interest income. This is a full time permanent position.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of the Bank’s Supply Chain Finance strategy, including conducting market research, industry analysis, performance tracking and monthly business reporting.
- Manage and maintain the lifecycle of assigned Trade Finance products in alignment with the Bank’s product management framework.
- Contribute to achieving supply chain and receivables finance targets, including business volume, interest income and non-interest income.
- Assist Relationship Managers in marketing Trade Finance products to local clients and Chinese outbound enterprises, maintaining good client relationships, delivering tailored solutions and ensuring high standards of customer service to support client retention and satisfaction.
- Prepare and present business and product proposals to develop new client relationships and expand business channels.
- Support with development and implementation of supply chain financing and distributor financing programmes in accordance with local market practices and Head Office policies, including drafting product documentation, operational manuals, and procedures.
- Conduct due diligence on supply chain e-platform providers and assess their suitability for partnership, while ensuring ongoing review and enhancement of product policies and practices.
- Assist in preparing the credit proposals for Supply Chain Finance and Trade Finance related transactions and attend Credit Committee meetings as required to present or support these proposals.
- Support post-lending monitoring and assist relationship managers in managing ongoing Trade Finance-related credit exposures.
- Perform transactional due diligence, including KYB and KYC procedures, in line with Bank and departmental standards.
- Support domestic and overseas BOC branches in Trade Finance business development, and liaise with domestic BOC branches to identify and pursue joint business opportunities.
- Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, client events, and outreach initiatives to promote Supply Chain Finance and other Trade Finance offerings.
- Assist in preparing statistical reports, AML reporting, internal audit submissions, and other compliance-related documentation.
- Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of Trade Finance products, Head Office policies, and regulatory frameworks to provide expert advice to internal stakeholders and clients.
Requirements
- Degree educated in Finance, Accounting, or other relevant subject.
- Professional certifications in transaction banking, such as CDCS, CSDG, or other LIBF qualifications, are desirable.
- Demonstrable experience in Supply Chain Finance gained within the Banking sector.
- Experience in Trade Finance is a plus.
- Knowledge of credit analysis for Trade Finance clients is preferred.
- Understanding of marketing and sales principles, with the ability to support product promotion and client engagement initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear, professional documentation, reports, proposals, and client correspondence.
- Excellent negotiation skills, particularly in supporting deal structuring and internal coordination.
- Excellent ability to work effectively across teams, build relationships, and support client interactions in a client-facing environment.
- Fluency in Mandarin is preferred.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
