Our client, a dynamic and growing commercial litigation firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor (c.10 Years' PQE) to join their team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role managing a high-quality caseload and a small, capable team - while playing a pivotal part in the firm's next phase of growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with a senior partner, taking ownership of a busy and varied caseload, supported by a talented team consisting of a Senior Associate, Junior Associate, and Trainee Solicitor.

The caseload includes a diverse mix of:

  • Professional negligence claims
  • Commercial litigation
  • Insolvency-related claims (e.g. against directors for misfeasance)
  • Property damage claims (e.g. fire-related)

Our client is seeking a well-rounded and organised litigator with strong working knowledge of the CPR and key Court Guides. While experience in all practice areas listed is not essential, broad exposure to commercial disputes is highly desirable. Strong team management skills or leadership experience is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day running of a complex commercial litigation caseload
  • Supervise and develop junior team members
  • Ensure cases progress efficiently and in line with procedural requirements
  • Support strategic decisions on resourcing and case planning
  • Optionally: contribute to business development (with full support if desired)

Business Development & Progression

If the candidate is interested in developing their own business, our client is supportive of this and offers a clear route into equity through business development success. However, the initial focus is on running cases and managing the existing team. Bringing a following is a bonus — our client is happy to provide junior support to help manage such work, provided the candidate retains sufficient capacity to handle and lead the current caseload. The primary objective is to free the partner from day-to-day case management so they can focus on growth.

What Our Client Offers

  • Private medical insurance
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Firm-provided tech (desktop, phone, laptop as needed)
  • Flexible working – 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
  • Genuine long-term progression opportunity, including a path to equity
