The role involves supporting drives and controls expertise with a focus on AC/DC, servo, and drive applications. You will report to the Sales Applications Manager and play a critical role in developing and costing technical solutions, preparing high-quality quotations, and providing technical support to the sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure technical solutions from customer specifications across diverse industries.
- Prepare detailed quotations, technical proposals, and system topologies using clear, concise language.
- Estimate resources and equipment needs using engineering software and tools.
- Act as a bridge between sales and engineering teams, ensuring seamless communication.
- Support large, multi-disciplinary projects with a commercially savvy approach.
- Produce high-quality documentation using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).
- Occasionally attend customer sites (UK and overseas) to support project delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in electrical/electronic or mechatronic engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven knowledge of AC/DC and servo VSDs (sizing motors from first principles is a plus).
- Experience with PLC, SCADA/HMI, Fieldbus protocols, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Commercially aware with an appreciation of industry drivers and costings.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on diverse, ever-changing projects.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
