Lorien Global are working with a forward-thinking technology team based in central Liverpool that is building modern, cloud-native software solutions within a collaborative, Agile environment. With a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and engineering best practices, the team is evolving how professional services are delivered through tech - one sprint at a time.
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping scalable, secure, and high-performing software within a modern cloud ecosystem. You will work alongside cross-functional teams including Product Owners and Testers to design and build robust solutions from the ground up.
You will be hands-on throughout the full development lifecycle: from translating user stories into clean, maintainable code to deploying infrastructure as code (IaC) and contributing to Agile ceremonies. This is a genuine opportunity to work on projects, refine delivery processes, and help steer technical direction across services.
The Requirements:
- Strong experience with Ruby, plus solid knowledge of software engineering principles
- Proven experience in cloud services (e.g. Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code methodologies (Terraform, etc.)
- Solid grounding in Agile practices, SOLID principles, and event-driven architecture
- Proficient with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices
- Self-starter mindset with a focus on clean, scalable, and testable code
- Excellent cross-team collaboration and communication skills
