A leading UK contractor specialising in complex roofing and cladding systems is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join a high-value defence infrastructure project in Barrow-in-Furness.

This is a significant opportunity to work as part of a Principal Contractor team delivering the full replacement of large-scale roofing and cladding systems on a £60 million project. You’ll be working closely with the end client and will play a key role in the commercial delivery of this critical programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties
  • Subcontractor management, procurement and cost reporting
  • Change management and commercial reporting
  • Active involvement in client meetings and approvals processes
  • Collaborate with design and delivery teams under tight project demands
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience on large-scale projects (ideally £20m+), particularly in defence, industrial, or high-security environments
  • Main contracting background – you understand the structure, pace, and demands of project delivery
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work under pressure
  • Experience dealing with detailed approvals processes and compliance procedures
  • Familiarity with working in secure or controlled environments is advantageous
  • UK passport required (due to site clearance requirements)

  • Defence infrastructure, secure facilities, or heavy industrial projects
  • Previous experience in Barrow-in-Furness or similar project locations
