The Role

As a Piping System Design Engineer UK & DACH, you will be responsible for providing engineering calculations and pipe system design support for the UK and DACH.

What you will do:

  • Analyse customer system design requirements and provide Victaulic product solutions for piping motion control needs, including thermal expansion, seismic movement, and vibration attenuation.
  • Assist customers with product selection, engineering calculations, and design modifications to integrate Victaulic solutions into their systems efficiently.
  • Ensure product competitiveness by obtaining necessary testing, certifications, and approvals, enhancing market acceptance and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent Victaulic in industry committees related to seismic and vibration attenuation, influencing industry standards and reporting key updates to Engineering, Sales, and Product Management.
  • Investigate field installations to assess product performance and usage trends, providing insights to Sales Management, Product Directors, and Engineers.
  • Support sales teams through technical seminars, literature creation, and training on piping motion control solutions.
  • Prepare and review code-compliant piping system designs using customer-compatible software (e.g., Caesar II, AutoPIPE, Rohr 2, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD), performing necessary engineering calculations.
  • Sign and seal/stamp drawings and calculations as required.
  • Adhere to data security policies by ensuring proper management of electronic records and confidential information in line with Engineering Department guidelines (EOG-26).
  • Maintain professional and compliant email communication per Federal Records Act regulations.
  • Contribute to product innovation by identifying new development opportunities and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in piping motion control solutions.
  • Perform additional projects as assigned by the EMEA Piping Movement Design Supervisor.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5–10 years of pipe system design experience.
  • Professional Engineer license required.
  • Experience in project management within building construction.
  • Background in design-build processes or work experience with an EPC.
  • Proficiency in stress analysis/structural software (e.g., Caesar II, Autopipe, Rohr2, FE Pipe).
  • Expertise in piping motion control, including thermal expansion, seismic movement, vibration accommodation, anchor design, and building load calculations.
  • Familiarity with relevant piping, structural, and seismic codes.
  • Strong communication skills and professional appearance.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Self-motivated with a drive for excellence.
