Purpose of the RoleResponsible for efficiently managing technology through the use of tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other parts of IT to ensure components of overall system are managed.Key duties & responsibilitiesDesigns and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s network and telecommunications systemsPerforms and evaluates costs analyses and vendor comparisons form small through large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendationsContinuously develop technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging network & telecommunications systems and other network & telecommunications technologiesCommunicate effectively regarding system operations and environment changesAdhere to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as dictatedUnderstands and avoids capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of network & telecommunications systemsEnsures that all security requirements are met or exceededDemonstrates proficient use and knowledge of standards and proceduresCommunicates in written and verbal form effectively in a large team or departmental settingApplies Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy and exhibits enthusiasm for and a desire to see Garmin succeedServes as a mentor to less experienced IT Administrators (Administrator 1)Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques including performing root cause analysis and identification of corrective action for given problemsPerforms and plans minor version upgradesUses tools and scripting to efficiently manage technologyMakes recommendations for component level improvementsIdentifies interdependencies in system and application componentsCoordinates cross team non-project changesParticipates in roadmap planning for systems or applicationsOrganizes and leads meetings with users of IT systemsUnderstands change is important and adapts wellWelcomes constructive feedback as an opportunity to improveProfessionally approaches situations in which conflict is presentAppropriate levels of security access is monitoredEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another technology related field OR 2 years relevant experience AND an equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceDemonstrates ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independentlyDemonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutionsDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team settingConsistently demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organizationDeep and broad understanding of IT Infrastructure and the relationship and interdependencies between technologies composed of: Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
