An innovative player in the space technology sector is expanding its UK team and seeking an experienced DSP Firmware Engineer to help build the next generation of satellite-based 5G communications systems.

The Role

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team, translating complex mathematical models and MATLAB simulations into firmware implementations using FPGAs and vector processors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement DSP algorithms for satellite 5G payloads
  • Translate and optimise existing simulations into FPGA hardware
  • Collaborate with engineers on system integration and adjacent functions
  • Support system documentation, testing, and delivery of a production-ready platform

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in signal processing, DSP firmware development, and/or communications systems
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, C/C++, VHDL/Verilog, and FPGA development environments
  • Strong understanding of multirate DSP, physical layer communications, and real-time signal implementation
  • Comfortable unpacking maths-heavy simulations and translating them into working code
  • Telecoms or space/satellite sector experience highly desirable

  • Duration: 3-month contract with strong potential for extension
  • Hybrid: 3 days a week on-site in Oxfordshire
