We are currently seeking an NDT Consultant to provide ad-hoc support within the Inspection Validation Centre (IVC) in Birchwood, Warrington. This position involves contributing to major Inspection Qualification projects for nuclear energy programmes in the UK and Europe.
Key Information:
- The role is not full-time but will be ongoing over the next two years.
- Work will be planned in advance and delivered in week-long blocks.
- Some international travel is required (France, Spain, Germany).
Responsibilities:
- Invigilation of Procedure Trials: Witnessing inspection vendors demonstrating NDT equipment and procedures using representative test pieces.
- Invigilation of Personnel Trials: Supervising and marking written exams and ultrasonic data analysis exams involving blind automated data.
- Fingerprinting Test Pieces: Using advanced ultrasonic techniques (PA / FMC) to generate digital fingerprints of test pieces, including procedure/report writing.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in automated ultrasonic inspections.
- PCN Level 3 in UT (Level 2 with strong experience will be considered).
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with advanced UT techniques.
- Able to work in Warrington and travel to client sites across Europe.
- Security cleared to BPSS level or eligible to obtain clearance.
- Able to operate as a contractor outside of IR35.
