Are you a senior risk leader with deep knowledge of equities and regulatory risk frameworks, ready to step into a top-tier role at a fast-growing Prime Brokerage? We’re working with an ambitious SME Prime Brokerage firm based in the heart of London, looking to appoint a strategic and hands-on Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead their risk function.
You’ll be joining a highly collaborative leadership team at a pivotal time in their growth, with the opportunity to shape and drive the firm’s entire risk management framework—across market, credit, operational, and prudential risk—in a regulated and agile environment.
- Build, enhance, and lead a comprehensive risk management framework
- Provide 2LoD oversight, offering challenge and direction on risk appetite and strategic decisions
- Oversee ICARA and MIFIDPRU8 regulatory obligations and prudential risk disclosures
- Act as primary liaison with the regulator (FCA) on risk-related matters
- Chair the Risk Committee and contribute to board-level reporting and strategic risk guidance
- Regularly deliver KRI reports, support internal education on risk, and mentor a growing team
- Ensure full integration of legal, reputational, credit, market, and operational risk into business processes
- Support new product approvals, ensuring adequate risk identification and controls are in place
- Represent the firm in external meetings from a risk leadership perspective
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive experience as a Head of Risk or CRO, ideally within prime brokerage or equities-heavy firms
- Solid understanding of Margins/Margining Frameworks
- Strong working knowledge of TRS, options, futures, and structured products
- Proven experience engaging with Board Committees and regulators
- Solid understanding of prudential frameworks, Market risk, and risk-based capital regimes
- A collaborative leader able to manage and grow high-performing risk teams in a regulated environment
