We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Commercial Manager to support the financial and contractual operations of our architecture practice, working closely with the CEO and senior project teams. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects are commercially sound, efficiently delivered, and aligned with the practice’s financial objectives.

The Commercial Manager will oversee contracts, budgets, cost control, and commercial reporting, while also contributing to the preparation of bids and fee proposals. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Project Directors, bidding teams, and external stakeholders to support successful project delivery from initiation through to completion.

  • Support the negotiation and drafting of contracts, including terms and conditions with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Work with the CEO to calculate fees and prepare commercial proposals.
  • Monitor project costs to ensure delivery within budget while maintaining profitability.
  • Track project financial performance and provide regular reporting to the CEO and Finance team.
  • Provide commercial guidance to project leads on scope definition, deliverables, and financial alignment.
  • Analyse project performance data to identify trends, efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with architectural and design team leads to embed commercial considerations into project delivery.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with company policies and legal standards.
  • Maintain accurate and organised commercial records, including contracts, fee proposals, and consultancy agreements.
  • Participate in project kick-off processes and pipeline review meetings.

Bachelor’s degree required. Background in architecture, design, or the built environment. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with strong exposure to contract administration and fee proposals. Advanced Excel skills and strong numerical confidence.
