From town centre regeneration and mixed-use development to public realm and environmental improvement schemes, this role offers the opportunity to shape projects that will create new homes, jobs and sustainable places for our communities.

You will lead a varied programme of regeneration and development projects for the Council and the MDC, acting as client lead and working closely with internal services, consultants, developers, investors, landowners and strategic partners. You will oversee projects through all stages of development and delivery, managing programme, budget, risk and quality, while preparing business cases, briefs, reports and presentations to support decision-making and secure successful outcomes.

Our team is at the forefront of facilitating and delivering physical development and regeneration schemes across the borough, either directly or through development partners. Working closely with our colleagues at Stockport’s MDC, we are driving forward some of the most ambitious regeneration projects in the North West, maintaining our reputation for achieving results and driving transformative change.

About You

  • A strong track record of leading regeneration or development projects from inception through to delivery, with responsibility for programme, budget, risk and quality.
  • Experience of managing projects through all stages of development and delivery, including appointing and overseeing consultants and professional teams, procurement activity and contract management.
  • Able to build effective relationships and work confidently with internal services, developers, investors, partners, landowners and other stakeholders to bring forward successful schemes.
  • Experience of identifying, securing and managing investment or funding opportunities to support regeneration and development objectives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience of preparing clear reports and briefings and providing advice to senior officers and Members.
  • Degree‑level qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional knowledge and experience, together with membership of an appropriate professional body or equivalent professional standing.
