A collaborative Engineering practice is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support a UK projects team. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with senior leaders to strengthen project planning, controls, and pipeline management across a diverse portfolio of projects. You’ll provide dedicated project planning and control support to Project Directors, establishing and maintaining robust schedules, monitoring progress, and supporting accurate project pipeline forecasting. Working closely with leadership, you’ll help implement consistent project control processes, identify risks and opportunities, and support successful project delivery.
Key duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project pipelines and records
- Ensure data integrity across bids, projects, and financial systems
- Develop workstage structures and draft project plans
- Validate project plans with Job Leaders and manage change control
- Support contract administration, invoicing, contingencies, and fee allocation
- Organise and contribute to monthly project reviews and reporting
- Produce performance, financial, and labour analysis reports
- Review estimates to complete, monitor margins, and support project closure
- Promote best practices and provide training on project systems and processes
About you
- Strong data analysis and numeracy skills
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, and project controls (CPM, Agile)
- Knowledge of earned value, cost, risk, and change management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in ERP and planning tools (VantagePoint, MS Project, P6, PowerBI)
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently
- Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
