P&L Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with our client based in Glasgow to recruit a Head of Finance. This is a senior, influential finance leadership role for someone who wants their expertise to make a tangible difference.
The Role
As Head of Finance, you will work directly with the CEO and trustees, shaping how the organisation plans, spends and sustains its work. You'll bring clarity and confidence to decision-making in a complex publicly funded environment. Reporting to the Chief Executive, your key responsibilities will be:
- Own statutory accounts and lead the annual audit under Charities SORP
- Act as the organisation’s principal financial advisor to the CEO and trustees
- Support the Board and Finance sub committee with clear, confident papers and recommendations
- Ensure strong financial policies, controls and regulatory compliance
- Shape financial input to commissioning, contract negotiations and service development
- Lead the evolution of finance systems, processes and reporting to support future needs
- Lead annual budgeting
- Maintain tight grip on cashflow
- Partner with Managers to address budget pressures
- Ensure timely, accurate processing across payroll, income and payments
Main requirements:
- Qualified, Part Qualified, or Qualified by experience Accountant with management level finance experience
- Working knowledge of audits
- Charity sector background would be desirable
- Confidence presenting financial insight
- A pragmatic delivery-focused mindset with good judgment and integrity
