P & L Pipelines Ltd are seeking an experienced HDD Drilling Rig Operator to operate a Ditch Witch JT40 on utility and infrastructure projects across the North East of England. This is a hands-on role within a growing utilities contractor delivering trenchless installations to a high standard of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a Ditch Witch JT40 HDD rig
- Set up, pilot bore, back reaming and product pullback
- Reading HDD bore plans, profiles and utility drawings
- Working safely around live services
- Completing daily plant checks and routine maintenance
- Working closely with locator and ground crew
- Ensuring works comply with RAMS and site procedures
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience operating a Ditch Witch JT40 (or similar 40T class rig)
- Valid CSCS card
- Strong understanding of HDD methodology and underground services
- Ability to work away from home when required
Preferred:
- Utilities experience (water, gas, electric, telecoms)
- Streetworks (NRSWA)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- First Aid / EUSR (advantageous)
