Introduction to the Division

The Not for Profit (NFP) team has an impressive pool of knowledge and experience to share and from which to learn. The team is led by partners with extensive experience in the sector, working with large, high‑profile NFP entities and also lending their expertise to global international charities.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicated administrative support and assistance to the firm’s contract with the Smaller Authority Audit Appointments Limited (SAAA) as maternity cover for the team’s administrator.
  • Respond to emails and phone call queries from smaller authorities.
  • Manage the process of issuing instructions electronically to smaller authorities.
  • Manage the process for issuing paper copies to smaller authorities who have opted out of electronic communication.
  • Manage the ACCESS database.
  • Receive all Annual Governance and Accounting Returns (AGAR) and input information into the database.
  • File electronic copies of AGARs and supporting documentation centrally on the network.
  • Attach certificates for smaller authorities declaring themselves exempt to the Virtual Cabinet filing system.
  • Chase smaller authorities for information not received (phone, email and chaser letters).
  • Liaise with credit control to chase outstanding payments.
  • Maintain and update contact details for smaller authorities.
  • Manage billing runs and issue completed AGARs to smaller authorities.
  • Update notes on relevant database records for queries raised by smaller authorities.
  • Perform ad‑hoc database enquiries and tasks as required.
  • Supervise other SAAA administrative support.
  • Carry out other administrative tasks as necessary for the SAAA contract.

Person Specification

  • Prior experience working in an administrative role.
  • Prior smaller authorities sector experience desirable but not mandatory.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a confident manner.
  • Methodical with an eye for detail and strong follow‑through.
  • Professional attitude, appearance and demeanour.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain a "can‑do" attitude.
  • Ability to set priorities independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to exercise tact, good judgement and diplomacy.
