Our Corporate Tax team deals with complex clients in fast‑moving, highly technical areas.
Responsibilities
- The role requires an ambitious, confident individual with excellent knowledge of corporate tax to join the growing Corporate Tax team.
- The successful candidate will support Senior Managers, Directors and Partners in delivering high‑quality tax compliance and ad‑hoc advisory services, while supervising junior team members.
- Liaise with audit and accounting teams regarding work delivery timetable.
- Manage deadlines in respect of client allocation.
- Ensure timely delivery of signed accounts to the iXBRL team.
- Schedule and coordinate resources to assist with the delivery of work.
- Review tax provisions, tax accounting schedules and final tax computations prepared by junior members, in conjunction with more senior members as required.
- Support the delivery of advisory projects across a range of corporate and business tax matters (e.g., group restructuring, international expansion, share schemes, tax efficiency reviews).
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and ensure excellent client service.
- Proactively manage WIP and billing for the client portfolio, ensuring commercial recoveries.
- Ensure firm policies and procedures are followed across client allocations and explained and implemented within the trainee group.
- Assist in management of trainee team members to deliver work, providing guidance and feedback as required.
- Assisting with administrative requirements and internal projects to support efficient team operations.
- Review and sign off tax computations where permission has been granted.
Special work / Ad‑hoc assignments
- Tender and new business proposals.
- Tax due diligence exercises.
- Delivery of internal training on corporation tax matters.
- Investigation and resolution of technical tax queries.
- Supporting advisory projects.
People Management
The post-holder will jointly manage junior staff and may manage direct reports after successful completion of probation.

Person Specification – Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience in corporation tax gained in practice.
- A strong technical understanding of corporation tax principles.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and confidently to non-specialists.
- Up-to-date technical knowledge covering a broad range of SME and large‑corporate tax matters.
- Good commercial awareness, with an understanding of how tax considerations influence wider business decisions.
- Experience managing a small portfolio profitably.
- Ability to support the delivery of tax advisory work and prepare high-quality written reports (including due diligence).
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise work efficiently, particularly during busy periods.
- ACA/CA/CTA or equivalent.
- Good Excel skills.
- Experience of Alphatax preferred.
- Experience of CCH would also be useful.
