The role requires an ambitious, confident individual, with excellent knowledge of corporate tax to join the growing Corporate Tax Team. The successful candidate will support Senior Managers, Directors and Partners in delivering high-quality tax compliance and ad-hoc advisory services to clients, while also assisting in the development and supervision of more junior team members.

The Corporate Tax team works with a broad range of clients across multiple sectors. Under the supervision of more senior team members, the Level 1 Manager will be responsible for:

  • Liaison with audit and accounting teams in respect of work delivery timetable
  • Management of deadlines in respect of client allocation
  • Ensuring timely delivery of signed accounts to the iXBRL team
  • Scheduling and coordination of resources to assist with the delivery of work
  • Reviewing tax provisions, tax accounting schedules and final tax computations prepared by junior members of the team
  • Supporting the delivery of advisory projects across a range of corporate and business tax matters
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring excellent client service
  • Proactively managing WIP and billing for their client portfolio
  • Ensuring firm policies and procedures are followed across client allocations
  • Assisting in management of trainee team members to deliver work
  • Assisting with some administrative requirements and internal projects
  • Reviewing and signing off tax computations where permission has been granted

The post-holder will be jointly responsible for managing more junior staff and may have the opportunity to manage some direct reports following successful completion of probation. Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in corporate tax gained in practice
  • A strong technical understanding of corporation tax principles
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and confidently to non-specialists
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge covering a broad range of SME and large-corporate tax matters
  • Good commercial awareness, with an understanding of how tax considerations influence wider business decisions
  • Experience managing a small client portfolio profitably
  • Ability to support the delivery of tax advisory work and prepare high quality written reports
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise work efficiently, particularly during busy periods

Qualifications:

  • ACA/CA/CTA or equivalent
