We're looking for an Assistant Manager or Manager to join our Private Client Tax team, supporting a portfolio of trusts, estates and high-net-worth clients.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio, providing trust accounting, tax compliance and advisory services while building strong relationships with trustees, beneficiaries and professional advisers.

You'll work on a broad range of matters, from trust accounts and tax returns through to inheritance tax planning, estate administration support and succession planning projects.

Alongside managing your own client portfolio, you'll support the development of junior team members and contribute to the continued success and growth of the team.

  • What you'll be doing day to day
  • Managing a portfolio of trust and estate clients, acting as a key point of contact for trustees, beneficiaries and professional advisers
  • Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of annual trust accounts and trust tax returns
  • Reviewing personal tax returns and supporting more complex compliance matters
  • Preparing and reviewing inheritance tax returns, capital gains tax computations and 60-day property reporting obligations
  • Meeting with clients to understand their needs and provide practical tax and trust-related advice
  • Drafting reports, technical advice and correspondence for clients and intermediaries
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities relating to trusts, estates and succession planning
  • Liaising confidently with HMRC, solicitors, financial advisers and other professional contacts
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and supporting their development
  • Managing workflow and ensuring client deadlines are met
  • Maintaining a high standard of client service and building long-term relationships

About you

  • ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with relevant experience in trust accounts and private client tax
  • Strong technical knowledge of trust accounts preparation and trust taxation
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering work to a high standard
  • Familiar with inheritance tax, capital gains tax and related trust and estate matters
  • Comfortable reviewing the work of others and supporting the development of junior colleagues
  • Organised and able to prioritise workloads effectively to meet deadlines
  • Professional and discreet, with the ability to build rapport quickly with clients and professional contacts
