About the Role:
We are working with a specialist SEND provision supporting a small cohort of pupils with complex communication needs. This setting operates within a structured, low-arousal environment designed to support pupils with:
- Autism (ASD)
- Speech & Language needs
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Emotional regulation and anxiety
This is not a typical classroom setting — the focus is on individual development, communication, and consistency.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children with ASD and/or speech & language needs
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Ability to work within structured routines
- Strong communication skills and emotional awareness
- Background in SEND, care, or support work (desirable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Assisting with communication-based learning activities
- Encouraging emotional regulation and engagement
- Working closely with teaching staff and SEND specialists
