PK Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join a supportive Secondary/SEND setting in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and proactive professional who is passionate about safeguarding, promoting student welfare, and supporting vulnerable children and families.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students, working closely with school staff, external agencies, parents, and carers to provide effective safeguarding support and intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the school's safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Monitoring, recording, and managing safeguarding concerns appropriately
  • Working with vulnerable students and their families to provide guidance and support
  • Supporting attendance monitoring and implementing intervention strategies where required
  • Maintaining accurate safeguarding records using CPOMS
  • Liaising with external agencies and contributing to multi-agency meetings
  • Promoting a safe and supportive learning environment for all students

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous safeguarding and child protection experience
  • DSL or DDSL experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of using CPOMS
  • Experience monitoring and improving student attendance
  • Confidence working collaboratively with external agencies and professionals
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills
  • A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families
