Learning Support Assistant (Secondary) Supply

Location: Doncaster

Contract: Full-time, Long-term

PK Education are currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work on a full-time, long-term supply basis in secondary schools in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting young people in their education.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You may be supporting students on a 1:1 basis or working with small groups, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting students with additional learning needs, including SEND.
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support in and out of the classroom.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Supporting students' academic, social and emotional development.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience preferred).
  • A genuine passion for supporting students in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
