PK Education are recruiting enthusiastic Science Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Sheffield from January 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a background in Biology, Chemistry or Physics who enjoy working with young people and want to develop their classroom experience. You don't need to be a qualified teacher! As a Science Cover Supervisor, you'll supervise pre-planned lessons when the usual teacher is absent, helping students remain focused and engaged with their learning. You may also be asked to provide general classroom cover across other subjects. The Role Supervising Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 Explaining pre-planned work and classroom activities Supporting students with scientific concepts where appropriate Maintaining positive classroom behaviour Ensuring students follow classroom safety procedures Providing feedback to teaching staff Supporting general classroom cover when required The Ideal Candidate A Science degree or relevant experience supporting young people Confidence working with secondary-aged students Strong communication and behaviour management skills An interest in Biology, Chemistry or Physics A reliable, professional and adaptable approach An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one Why Choose PK Education?
