PK Education are working with a secondary school in Sheffield who are looking to appoint an experienced Design Technology Technician to provide ongoing cover within their DT department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled workshop technician who enjoys supporting practical learning and maintaining a safe, organised working environment. You'll play a vital role in preparing materials and equipment, ensuring lessons run smoothly and students have everything they need to complete practical projects.
The school are looking for somebody who is confident working within a busy workshop environment and has experience preparing timber, cutting stock, maintaining equipment, and supporting teachers across the Design Technology department.
The Role
- Preparing materials and resources for practical DT lessons
- Cutting timber and stock ready for student projects
- Maintaining workshop equipment and ensuring tools are safe for use
- Supporting teachers with lesson preparation and practical activities
- Managing stock levels and ordering materials where required
- Ensuring the workshop complies with health and safety regulations
Essential Requirements
- Experience working as a Design Technology Technician or within a similar workshop environment
- Secondary Materials Health & Safety (SMHS)
- Safe Use of Woodsawing Machines (S1HS)
- Essential Health & Safety for D&T Workshop Technicians
Desirable Qualifications
- Safe Use of Planer/Thicknesser Machine (S8HS)
