PK Education are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with autism spectrum disorder within a specialist resource provision attached to a mainstream secondary school in the Pontefract area. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils who access learning both within the specialist provision and mainstream classroom settings.
The Role
- You will support secondary age students with Autism and additional learning needs, helping them engage with their education and develop independence.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students within the resource provision
- Assisting pupils when integrating into mainstream lessons
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Encouraging confidence, independence and engagement
- Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
The Ideal Candidate
- We are looking for individuals who:
- Have experience working with SEND / Autism / SEMH
- Are confident supporting secondary age students
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Have experience in education, youth work, coaching, care or support roles
- Are passionate about helping young people succeed
