We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with severe and complex needs. This role involves working closely with students who may have a combination of learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and/or medical needs. You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop communication skills, and achieve greater independence in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Assist with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, where required
  • Support communication using strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or assistive technology
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver personalised learning
  • Promote positive behaviour using consistent and supportive approaches
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Support pupils during transitions, therapy sessions, and off-site activities where applicable

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children or young people with severe and complex needs (desirable but not essential)
