PK Education are currently recruiting for a passionate and resilient RE Teacher to join a specialist SEND/SEMH setting in Rotherham. This is an exciting long-term opportunity for an educator who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Religious Education lessons while providing the structure, support, and encouragement needed to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning and delivering engaging Religious Education lessons tailored to individual learner needs
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Building positive relationships with students to promote engagement and achievement
  • Using trauma-informed approaches to support emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, adapting teaching strategies where required
  • Managing behaviour effectively through positive and restorative approaches
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers, and external professionals to support student outcomes
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • A specialism in Religious Education
  • Experience teaching within secondary education
  • Previous experience working with SEMH learners (preferred)
  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • A relationship-led teaching style focused on engagement and trust-building
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students who may have experienced barriers to education
