Qualified SENCO, Pontefract Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire Pay: ££190 - £220 per day  (dependent on experience) Contract: Temporary / Interim, initially up to one term Working days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm (to be confirmed) Start date: ASAP PK Education is recruiting an experienced and qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to provide interim leadership and support within a specialist through-school in the Pontefract area. The school supports pupils with a range of complex additional needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and communication needs. The successful candidate will provide continuity of SEND provision while the school recruits to its permanent SENCO position. Key responsibilities: Oversee and coordinate SEND provision across the school. Support the management and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Work collaboratively with senior leaders, teaching staff, families and external professionals. Monitor provision, pupil progress and statutory SEND processes. Provide guidance and leadership to staff supporting pupils with complex needs. Essential requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or completed NPQ for SENCOs. Previous experience working as a SENCO. Strong understanding of SEND legislation, statutory processes and EHCPs. Experience within a specialist SEND environment, ideally supporting pupils with complex learning and communication needs. Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one. Ability to provide a minimum of two years' referencing history. Interested?
