Cover Supervisor – Overseas Trained Teachers Welcome

Location: South Yorkshire

Contract: Part-time (3 days per week, flexible)

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £100–£120 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you an overseas-trained teacher who has recently relocated to the UK and looking to gain valuable experience in British schools? PK Education are working with a range of secondary schools across South Yorkshire who are seeking confident and adaptable individuals to work as Cover Supervisors on a flexible, part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to build UK classroom experience, understand the curriculum, and develop your confidence in a new education system.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. This allows you to focus on classroom management, student engagement, and understanding school routines without the additional pressure of lesson planning and marking. You will be working across a variety of schools, typically around 3 days per week, with full flexibility on which days you choose to work.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supervising classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 using pre-set work.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with UK school expectations.
  • Supporting students to remain engaged and complete their work.
  • Gaining insight into the UK curriculum and school systems.
  • Building confidence working in different school environments.
