PK Education is recruiting for an experienced and motivated Head of Mathematics to join a specialist SEN secondary school in Northumberland on a full-time, ongoing basis with an immediate start available. This is a passionate Maths teacher and strong leader opportunity to join a supportive SEN setting, leading the Maths department while supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.

The Role

  • Leading the Maths department within the school
  • Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages
  • Supporting and developing the Maths curriculum
  • Monitoring pupil progress and attainment
  • Managing behaviour positively and effectively
  • Working collaboratively with senior leadership and teaching staff
  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Previous experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Experience in a leadership role or as Head of Department desirable
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Experience within SEN settings advantageous
  • A passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
