PK Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and proactive Attendance Support Assistant to join one of our client schools in Newcastle. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in improving student attendance and supporting young people to overcome barriers to education.

About the Role

As an Attendance Support Assistant, you will work closely with students, families, and school staff to promote positive attendance habits and ensure every student has the best opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track student attendance, identifying patterns and concerns
  • Conduct home visits to support families and re-engage students in education
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral teams to improve attendance outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents/carers, and external agencies
  • Provide both practical and emotional support to help remove barriers to attendance
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to attendance reports

About You

  • Passionate about supporting young people and improving educational outcomes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilient, empathetic, and confident in handling sensitive situations
  • Experience in education, safeguarding, or family support (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
