About the Role

PK Education are working with a secondary school in South Yorkshire who are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join their Modern Foreign Languages department after Easter. This is a long-term position covering a staff member on sickness leave and is expected to continue until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured French lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a modern foreign language. The role offers a great opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging French lessons across KS3 and KS4 while adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of different learners.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining strong classroom management to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Contributing to departmental planning and supporting students in developing a genuine interest in languages and different cultures.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in French and the ability to deliver engaging language lessons.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues, alongside strong classroom management skills.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
