PK Education are working with a secondary school in Barnsley who are seeking an Acting Head of Design Technology to lead the department for the Autumn Term. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Technology teacher or current middle leader looking to step into a leadership role within a well-established and supportive department.
The timetable will predominantly consist of KS4 Engineering, with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day running of the department, supporting colleagues, and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained throughout the term. The school has invested heavily in its Technology provision, with well-equipped workshops, excellent technician support, and Engineering continuing to be a popular and successful option at GCSE.
The Role
- Teaching predominantly KS4 Engineering
- Acting as Head of Design Technology for the Autumn Term
- Leading the department on a day-to-day basis

- Monitoring student progress and achievement
- Working closely with Senior Leadership and the wider Technology faculty
