PK Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate and motivated Community Support Worker to join a specialist SEND/SEMH setting serving the Rotherham and Doncaster areas. This is a rewarding long-term opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges, develop confidence, and engage positively with education and their wider community.
This role is ideal for candidates with a background in youth work, care, mentoring, or support work who can build strong relationships and provide guidance to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND and SEMH needs
- Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive coping strategies
- Assisting with behaviour support and intervention plans
- Building trusting and positive relationships with young people
- Encouraging engagement in education, personal development, and community activities
- Supporting students to develop social skills, resilience, and confidence
- Working collaboratively with school staff, families, and external agencies to support student wellbeing and progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A background in youth work, care work, mentoring, support work, or a related field
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- SEMH experience (desirable)
- Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and emotional regulation techniques
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- A genuine passion for helping young people achieve positive outcomes
